It’s been 18 years since the so-called United States started the invasion and occupation of Iraq. I was twelve years old! I lived overseas but I hoisted an American flag on a homemade bamboo flagpole because I was sure America was always right. Somehow adults had put that idea in my head.
Every Iraqi and American who has died as a result has died in vain. Utterly pointless deaths, beautiful and full lives cut short because of bloodthirsty greedy warmongers. God damn America.
